5/3/10 Update from Pete

I haven't done an update on Barbara for a while so here goes.

She finished chemo in the middle of Feb. We went to Vegas for a week, then to Cubs spring training for a week, back to Vegas to stay with Juli and Neely from 12 March until 16 March. On the 14th our whole family plus Jessica celebrated Barb's 80 birthday together. What a blast along with celebrating her gains against cancer.

We returned home 16 March and after much testing she started radiation on 24th or 25th of March. She has done quite well and has 10 more treatments scheduled to be over on 12 May.

We are so very thankful!! Her hair is starting to come back in and that makes her happy.
She has her new dress for the weddings in May. We are both happy and sad at the same time with our "baby" grandchildren getting married. We are VERY thankful for Jeremy and Dannalee the groom & bride they are marrying.

With Love - Pete ( Barbara's husband )

Last (Hopefully) Chemo!

Barb had her last chemo on 9 Feb. ( We hope forever ) It has been the easiest on her of the six. She had slight back pain but Tylenal took care of it. She was without energy for four days but all in all not bad.

We plan to fly to Las Vegas on the 24th then go to Spring training on 3 March - back to Las Vegas on the 11th then home the 16th.

We are so pleased our whole family will be together on March 14th for Barbs 80th Birthday. We will be at Juli's for that. God has once again been so very good to all of us!!!!!

Latest Chemo Update from Pete

Dear ones - Barb had her last chemo treatment on 19 Jan. Also a shot to promote white cell count. On 29 Jan all counts were favorable so with no un-seen problems she will receive her final chemo treatment on 9 Feb.

Following her #4 chemo she had some back pain and 10 days of extreme fatigue. On Friday 29 Jan she started to bounce back - went to church Sunday and has been pretty good since then.

Hope you are all well and we send our best wishes!!!!! Lovin' Ya B & P

New Update from Pete

On 28 December Barb had her 4th chemo treatment. On that day she also received a shot that was to work in her bones to promote white blood cell development. Her white count was 1100 and they would like for it to be 2500 - 3000. We wont know until 19 Jan what the results are. They told us this could cause extreme pain the back but fortunately no severe pain just some discomfort in her legs.

We thought we were going to get through the period w/o negative results from the chemo, and she did, until Sat. the 9th she totally lost all energy and ran a slight temperature, she was in bed for 24 plus hours. There was some improvement on Sunday and she seems to be over the bump for now. We are so very thankful there was no more pain than she had and the duration was short. Thank you for your prayers and your caring. B & P
